Welcome to the 2025 swim team season!! 

The Bowman Woods Barracuda swim team has an excellent reputation for providing both a fun, and competitive experience for summer and year round swimmers alike.  Swim team is open to both members and non members of the BWSRC. Swim Team member fee for 2025 is $120 per swimmer plus an online processing fee. This includes all coaching, entry fees, and a team T-shirt.  Registration for Bowman Woods Barracuda swim team is available May 1, 2025 for members and May 8, 2025 for the public.

2025 Swim Season: June 5th - July 19th

First week: June 5th & June 6th

Second week: June 9th-13th

Remainder of the season: June 16th-July 18th practices will be on Mondays, Thursdays, & Fridays.

2025 BWSRC Swim Team Practice Schedule

6:45 am-7:45 am Advanced Practice - Advanced Swimmers Ages 11-17

7:45 am-8:45 am Intermediate Practice - Intermediate Swimmers Ages 9-12

8:45 am-9:30 am Beginner Practice - Beginner Swimmers Ages 6-10

All BWSRC Swimmers will learn/refine the four competitive strokes: Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke, & Freestyle

Swimmers will also learn/refine starts off the starting blocks and how to finish a race.

Swimmers aged 11 & up will learn/refine turns.

 

*Swimmers may be asked to move to a different practice according to ability level.   

*There are no swimming requirements for the beginner level, only a desire to swim competitively.  

*Swim team is for swimmers ages 6-17. 

Advanced practice:  Will focus on conditioning and stroke refinement

Intermediate practice: Will focus on a combination of conditioning and stroke technique.

Beginner practice:  Will focus on stroke technique, starts, finishes, and being competition ready.

2025 Meet Schedule

• All dual meets have a 4:00 pm warm-up time and a 5:00 start time. Meets are typically held on Tuesday evenings. 

  Tuesday, June 17th - BW vs. Mar vs. CRCC @ BWSRC (Rain Date: Thursday, June 19th)

  Tuesday, June 24th - BW vs. Mar vs. Elm @ Elmcrest Country Club (Rain Date: Thursday, June 26th)

  Tuesday, July 1st - BW vs YMCA @ BWSRC (Rain Date: Wednesday, July 2nd)

  Tuesday, July 8th - BW vs. CRCC @ Cedar Rapids Country Club (Rain Date: Thursday, July 10th)

  Tuesday, July 15th - All League Fun Night at Marion Municipal Pool 7:15 pm - 9:15 pm

  Saturday, July 19th - City Meet @ Camp Tanager; One Session; Time TBD
